Summer Camp

One of the highlights of our year is to go to summer camp. Summer camp is a time where Scouts can get away from home and have fun in the outdoors. It’s a great opportunity to earn badges that you may not normally have a chance to earn. There is also a program for younger Scouts to give them a quick start on advancement.

Since 1996, we have been going to Camp Buck Toms near Rockwood, Tennessee. This camp is situated on the shores of Watts Barr Lake in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. This is a very scenic area, and the camp program is fantastic. (The food’s not too bad either!)

Camp Buck Toms offers the Dan Beard Program for first year campers, programs for nearly 50 merit badges, C.O.P.E (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience), and the Mountain Man program.
