Are you looking for a Forever Friend? Well, you're in luck! We have lots of dogs and cats who are looking for Forever Homes. At any given time, we could be filled to capacity with dogs (in fact, some of our dog pens have as many as four dogs at a time). All different breeds, all different sizes, all different ages. We also have lots of cats. We have many adult cats, and also several litters of kittens. We are sure if you come out to the Adoption Center, you will find something that suits you. We only euthanize when absolutely necessary, but sometimes we are so overcrowded that we can't possibly care for all of the animals we have. If you are interested in adopting an animal from us, or know someone who is, please contact us and let us know as soon as possible. Remember, saving one animal might not make a difference in the world, but it will make a world of difference for that one animal! Click here to see our adoptable pets:

Thank you for your interest in adopting
from the Anderson Humane Society. We want our dogs and our adoptive
families to be happy with the placement. The preliminary application
is very important to helping us make the perfect match between dog and
new "parent". We reserve the right, at our sole discretion,
to turn down an application. NOTE: We do not ship our animals under
any circumstances. For adopters traveling a great distance, all efforts
will be made to compromise a meeting place between your home and the
Adoption Center, but due to our personal schedules, this is not always
feasible. Potential adopters must be prepared to drive to Lawrenceburg
if necessary. If you have any questions concerning this application
or the adoption process, please email the humane society president at
ahs_40342@yahoo.com.

Please answer ALL questions on this
application. Please know that this is only a PRELIMINARY application.
There will are other papers you will need to fill out if your preliminary
application is approved. Please note: you only need to fill out a preliminary
if there is a specific animal you are interested in adopting and cannot
make it out to the Adoption Center in the next couple of days.
If you fill out your preliminary application and e-mail it to us and
it is approved, we will place a hold on the animal until you can get
there to view it. However, we cannot hold our animals more than a couple
of days. We try to find homes for our animals as quickly as possible,
and do not feel that it is fair to them, or the other applicants that
may want to adopt them, to have them waiting any longer than necessary.
In the event that more than one person wants to adopt an animal, we
will accept all applications and then the board of directors will decide
who we think will provide the best home for the animal. This application
is also available at the Adoption Center, so if you have plans to come
on out and visit us, there is no need to fill out the preliminary located
on this website.
